The year sure is going to end with news of Sara Ali Khan everywhere! The actress, who will be making her debut, has not one but two films releasing in the month of December! Just a few hours ago, the makers of her debut film, shared the poster of Kedarnath. On the poster, it is explicitly written that the film will be releasing on December 7, 2018. While there were lots of reports citing that due to the production differences between Abhishek Kapoor and the producers, the film had been postponed to March 2019. However, everything seems to have worked out and Kedarnath will release this year in December, incidentally, before Simmba.
A source told Mid-Day on the same, "The teaser of Kedarnath will be launched today, with the film eyeing a December 7 release. Abhishek was keen that Sara foray into the movies with his project and is glad that things have fallen into place. Three weeks after Kedarnath, the youngster will have her second outing in Simmba." Pretty convenient how things fell in place now, isn't it? With Kedarnath initially taking a step back, it was obvious that Sara's second film with Ranveer Singh would be her debut on Bollywood screens. In a way, KJo and Rohit Shetty would've had the upper hand of giving Sara the launchpad she wanted with Simmba. But Kapoor has managed to work things out.
Talking about the film, director Abhishek Kapoor also added, "What made the process of making this film fulfilling is the fact that the cast and crew have been keen believers. They worked with immense dedication and honesty throughout, which is showing in the final product." Stating that the director has "created a work of art". Co-producer Ronnie Screwvala expressed his joy over launching Sara by adding, "We are ecstatic to introduce Sara Ali Khan at the movies on December 7."
Kedarnath is set against the backdrop of the perilous 2013 floods that wrecked the beautiful temple town. The film will see Sushant Singh Rajput play Mansoor, a porter who helps pilgrims with their journey to the temple. Sara Ali Khan plays Mukku, SSR's love interest in the film. Winter is coming and we can't wait!
