The makers of Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming movie, Sanju, is releasing a new poster of the actor in various Sanjay Dutt's getups. The latest poster takes back to the early '90s when Sanjay Dutt was arrested under the TADA for possession of illegal arms and his involvement in the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts. Sanjay Dutt was jailed for his crime and had to do a part of jail sentence then.
The new poster of Sanju relives those days of the controversial actor when he sported rough hair and bead. And of course, there are the handcuffs too. Sure, we are glad that director Rajkumar Hirani is not stopping himself to discuss the most controversial part of his good friend's life. Let's hope that there is not whitewashing in these portions. The director has tweeted the poster with the caption, "Sanju was first arrested in 1993. In prison for 18 months. Could not get bail. A recreation of that time. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi".
Sanju also stars Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh. Manisha Koirala, who plays Sanjay Dutt's mother, Nargis, in the movie, recently spoke to IANS about being a part of the film. She said, "I am really honoured to have played Nargis Duttji in the film. It's like any actress' dream role. Though I have a very small role in the film. It's a special appearance, but I am really excited to know audience reaction about my role and the film." Sanju comes out on June 29.
