Trust people to rake up issues and file complaints against the movie just before the release. Sanju was bound to be shrouded by controversies, considering it was a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. We are waiting to see how director Rajkumar Hirani has treated his personality in the movie, and how the various controversies in Dutt's life have been addressed. Recently, the movie has brought trouble for its lead star, Ranbir Kapoor, as well as Anushka Sharma thanks to a dialogue shown in the trailer.

As per a report in News18, some of the sex workers have approached the National Commision for Women and have filed a complaint against a 'derogatory' remark made in the trailer against their professions. They have taken objection to the dialogue delivered by Ranbir as Dutt, where he boasts to the biographer, played by Anushka Sharma, about sleeping with '308 without counting the prostitutes'.

Don't know if the writers (Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani) are mentioned in the complaint too, since that line must have been written by them.

Sanju, meanwhile, is having what is considered as Ranbir Kapoor's widest release. The advance bookings for the movie had begun from Sunday itself, and the trade pundits are predicting a box office opening of Rs 30 crore plus, with a lifetime collection of Rs 250 crore estimate. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh.
