Sanju: Here's What Ranbir Kapoor Has to Say on Salman Khan's Statement
Salman Khan wanted Dutt to play his own role in the biopic.
Sanju trailer has left almost everybody mesmerized, thanks to Ranbir Kapoor's flawless imitation of actor Sanjay Dutt. The Rajkumar Hirani film sure looks like one emotional roller coaster ride, which is why everyone is intently looking forward to it. During Race 3 promotions, Salman Khan who has acted in several films with Dutt, was asked about Ranbir's performance and he reacted that only Dutt could play his role better. Everyone wondered how RK would react to this stern statement. Here it is.
During a recent media interaction, the Rockstar actor stated, "It has never happened that a person played himself in his own biopic. This destroys the effect of a character. I knew that I will be compared to Sanjay Dutt and that is why I have tried my best to do justice to his role."
He further added, "Whether people see me in 40-year old Sanjay Dutt's avatar or 20-year old, they should feel that they are watching an artist who is playing Sanjay Dutt. It is correct that I cannot become a second Sanjay Dutt."
Salman and Ranbir have been avoiding each other since their fallout because of ex Katrina Kaif. The two have been making this ignorance quite obvious and now only comment on each other when necessary. Speaking of the main man, Sanjay Dutt, he himself has loved what Ranbir has done in the trailer. He called it a 'fantastic job' and is totally looking forward to watch the film. We guess, it's time Salman Khan to keeps his bitterness aside and watches this ambitious film of the year, releasing on June 29. What do you think?
