Rajkumar Hirani's latest film, Sanju has received mixed reviews from audience and critics alike. While some have lauded Sanjay Dutt for making his life an open book, others have accused him of attempting to whitewash his image. All this while neither the makers nor Sanjay had commented on this but looks like Sanju doesn't want to keep quiet anymore.
In an interview recently with India today TV, the actor was quoted saying, "I just want to say that Munna Bhai was already made, that avatar was already out. I don't think anyone would spend Rs 30-40 crore to change his image. That is too much of an amount. I have told the truth and the truth has been accepted by India, and the box office collection shows that," the actor said.
Sanjay Dutt was even asked if the incidents and events shown in Sanju are cent percent true. To which, he said, "'Why do you think so many people love me?' There is nothing dark about me. Growing up the way I did - it was no different than a usual teenager or youngster. There was nothing special about being Mr Sunil Dutt's son. I made mistakes - a little more. I even went to jail for it which I don't regret."
The film has been doing exceedingly well as it has raked in Rs 200 crore at the box office. Trade experts have predicted that the Ranbir Kapoor starrer would enter Rs 300 club soon. Coming back to Sanjay's comment, do you agree with what he has to say?
