Salman Khan and his legal battle against his conviction in the black buck poaching case is getting no respite. Salman had been declared guilty last year in the poaching case, as well as for the possession of arms, by the Rajasthan High Court last year. He was sentenced to a five-year jail term and pay a fine of Rs 10,000. After being jailed for two days, the superstar had managed to get a reprieve from serving the sentence. He had filed a motion to overturn the judgement in the case, the hearing of which was to take place in the Jodhpur court. Now as per an update by ANI, the hearing has been adjourned for the day and the court has set a new date for a fresh hearing on July 4. Salman Khan has been asked to present at the District and Sessions Court for the same.
In 1998, Salman Khan was accused of killing two blackbucks and a chinkara while shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hai near Jodhpur. The blackbucks are considered sacred by the Bishnoi community and they are protected by the government. Not just Salman Khan, even his co-stars from the film, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonali Bendre, were implicated in the case. However, save for Salman, the others accused in the case were given a clean chit by the High Court last year.
