Salman Khan’s Appeal Against Blackbuck Poaching Case Verdict to Be Heard on April 3
Salman Khan will be back in court in April to hear his appeal against the CJM Rural Court ruling in the blackbuck case.
Salman Khan's appeal against the CJM Rural Court has been adjourned till April 3, in blackbuck poaching case. Yes, the 52-year-old actor, who had challenged his five-year jail sentence for killing endangered blackbucks in 1998, will now be back in court in April to hear his appeal against the CJM Rural Court ruling in the blackbuck case. In a statement to ANI, advocate Sushma Dhara said, "Salman Khan's appeal against the sentencing was supposed to be heard yesterday, but it has been postponed due to the court being busy," further adding, "The date has been postponed to April 3." Salman Khan was charged with a total of three cases in connection with poaching and one under the Arms Act in October 1998. The Government’s appeal against acquitting Salman Khan for the possession of illegal arms and the appeal against Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam, and Sonali Bendre by the Bishnoi Community too has been postponed till April 3. The cases were supposed to be heard by district judge Chandra Kumar Sonagara.
For the uninitiated, the actor was accused of poaching a blackbuck while shooting for the movie, Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998. Along with Salman, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam too were accused of poaching blackbucks during the shoot of their film in Jodhpur. The two endangered species, those are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, had been killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur.
On the professional front, Salman is currently shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, which is set to hit the screens on Eid 2019. The actor also has Dabangg 3, which he will start shooting for in April. Watch this space for further updates.
