Jaya Bachchan, Rajya Sabha, Minister of Parliament (MP) commented on actor Salman Khan getting convicted in the blackbuck poaching case. According to an ANI report, she has been quoted as saying, "I feel bad. He should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian work." The quantum of punishment is 5 years and Rs 10,000 fine.
Earlier today, the actor has finally been convicted in the 20-year old blackbuck case. Now the star will have to spend five years in jail. His other co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, who were accused were aquitted.

Salman was facing charges under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and the other actors have been charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. Public Prosecutor Bhawani Singh Bhati had said that all (Salman, Saif, Sonali, Tabu and Neelam) were in a Gypsy car that night, with Salman Khan in the driving seat.
