Even before the release of Salman Khan's Race 3, there is already a high buzz regarding his next film 'Bharat'. The film that also stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead has roped in Disha Patani for a pivotal part. We have watched PC and Sallu rock the silver screen together in the past. However, it will be exciting to watch the new pair of Salman-Disha in this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. As reported in Mumbai Mirror, the film will have Ms Patani as a trapeze artist in a circus in the backdrop of 60s era.
The Tiger Zinda Hai director reveals, "The pairing of Salman and Disha in a circus set-up in the ’60s is unusual and exciting. She is a promising star and for this character, we needed a girl who looked vulnerable and beautiful yet had the physicality of an athlete. Disha fit the bill perfectly."
The role will need the Cadbury girl to inculcate the grace and skills of a real trapeze artist and their familiarity with the circus trade ropes. We all know that the MS Dhoni actress is all excited when it comes to learning new things. She learnt martial arts for Baaghi 2 and is now learning sword fighting for South Indian film Sangamithra. The visibly thrilled Disha said, "I’m excited to be a part of Bharat, it’s like a dream come true to get an opportunity to work with Salman sir and I can’t wait for the journey to begin. I am a big fan of Ali Abbas sir’s work."
Bharat is an official remake of South Korean film 'Ode to My Father'. The film will time travel through the protagonists' life from 1947 to 2000s. The ambitious period drama will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi in India.
