Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat is currently taking the box office by storm. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has minted Rs 167.60 crore till now and is going steady at the ticket windows. The film even became Salman's biggest opener ever as it raked in Rs 42.30 crore on day 1. Bharat which follows an emotional journey of a man named after the nation, 'Bharat' who is separated from his father during the partition, later chronicles his life alongside the journey of the country. Adapted from the Korean drama, Ode to My Father, Bharat has received a lot of positive response from the audiences. Given that partition is one of the most dishearting incidents in India's history and that those displaced during this incident had to go through a hard time as families were distanced and family ties were lost forever. A special screening of the film was held for the families of those who experienced this event.
Salman even shared a picture on his Twitter from the screening and said, "Special screening of #Bharat for the real families who experienced the events of 1947 and the partition. Honoured to meet all of them! Salute to the real #Bharat families."
