Salman Khan In Hot Water: 5 Controversial Statements By The Star That Made Us Say 'Bhai, Please Shut Up!'

As his die-hard fans always try to defend him, Bhai has got a clean heart; he doesn't mean what he says. Well, we have this to say - if you don't mean what you say, then don't say at all!

Salman Khan really needs to learn what diplomacy is. Or what it is to talk safely! The usually unapologetic actor often lands himself in various controversies, not just for his actions, but also for what he blurts out. We are not talking about his hit-n-run case or his blackbuck poaching case; we were not there to know what happened and that's for the courts to decide whether he is guilty or not. But whatever Salman Khan says in media is recorded and imprinted in the memories forever, and some of his statements are so outrageous that we can't believe a superstar with such a huge fan following can talk so irresponsibly!

But then, that's Salman Khan for you! He never retracts his statement and never apologises for them. In fact, I don't think he even thinks they are wrong! Recently, in just one episode of Dance Deewane, where he was a guest to promote Race 3, Salman Khan committed not one but two mistakes. He made Jacqueline Fernandez forcibly hug a child contestant and later body-shamed a woman, all in the name of fun. Maybe a decade ago, Salman would have gotten away with this. But in this era, where every little quote and action is scrutinised to the core to see if it harms an individual mentally or emotionally, Salman's statements are highly irresponsible. It amounts to bullying! Check out Salman's very controversial statements in recent times, that need to be called out for being thoughtless and stupid!

Fat-shaming a contestant

Like we said before, Salman poked fun at a 42-year old aspirant on the show Dance Deewane based on her weight. You can read everything about it here. Interestingly, Salman once berated a Bigg Boss contestant for body-shaming his fellow contestants. Looks like Bhai never follows up on his own advice.

The raped woman controversy

This was one of Salman Khan's most infamous quotes. During a press con to promote Sultan, Salman described his training sessions like this, "When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out." No, Bhai never felt to apologise for this!

Comparing a woman to a vice

In the same press meet, Salman also had this nugget of wisdom to offer that reveals his opinion about women in general. He had said, "Leave every second vice in your list – that’s the mantra I follow. And I have left everything one by one. When it was between coffee and cigarettes, I quit coffee. Between cigarettes and drinks, I quit the stick. Between the drinks and women, I have chosen women." Note the plural usage of the word 'women'.

The luxury of depression

The condition of depression is being recognised as a serious issue these days, but no one gave Salman a pamphlet on this. During the promotions of Tiger Zinda Hai, Salman revealed to the media that he sees depression as a luxury that he can't afford! He had said, "I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can’t afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me." Deepika Padukone, who has suffered from depression herself, gave it back to Bhai in a press con where she said, "Depression is sometimes perceived as a luxury. People think that those who have too much time or money get into depression. I think it is very important to break that myth."

Bhangi!

At a dance reality show, Salman took to the stage and did some steps, which made him say, "I look like a bhangi!" His comment was met with the ire of the Valmiki community, who lodged a police complaint against him.

As his die-hard fans always try to defend him, Bhai has got a clean heart; he doesn't mean what he says. Well, we have this to say - if you don't mean what you say, then don't say at all!
