Salman Khan’s long-pending blackbuck poaching case of 1998 is taking a major turn today. After a lot of delay on the hearing, it will take place today in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. For the uninitiated, the actor had filed a plea in February against the verdict where he was sentenced with 5 years of imprisonment for killing two blackbucks during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hai film. Blackbuck Poaching Case: Not Salman Khan but Someone Else Is the Real Culprit, Says Simi Garewal.

Earlier, last year, his co-stars from the film and co-accused were acquitted. Saif, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were acquitted, on the other hand, Salman Khan was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.

This hearing is said to be one of the important ones, owing to the films that he will be starring in this year. The superstar cannot afford to get the 5 years of imprisonment as he has a huge investment riding on his back as of now.

Salman Khan will be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar directed Bharat along with Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani in the lead. He has also been roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film called Inshallah that also stars Alia Bhatt. He has also started shooting for much-awaited installment which is Dabangg 3. Then there are Kick 2, a remake of Korean film-Veteran and Tiger franchise in the store for him. The decision by the court will decide the future of these projects as well and all the eyes are on the verdict.
