The much-much awaited first look of Saina Nehwal biopic starring Shraddha Kapoor is out, and it is fantabulous. Yes, yes, all your doubts will go away after seeing the first look of Shraddha as star Indian badminton player. She is that good. The 31-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to share the first poster of the upcoming movie, which she simply captioned as #SAINA. Honestly, when the Amole Gupte-directed project was announced, most of us were quite sceptical if a glam doll-like Shraddha could pull off the role of feisty London Olympics medallist. However, movie buffs can relax a bit now as Shraddha is impressive as Saina Nehwal. Did you know Saina Nehwal started playing badminton at the age of eight? The reason behind is also quite fascinating. It so happened the 28-year-old was born in Haryana and lived there before her family moved to Hyderabad. Little Saina who did not know the local language struggled to make friends, and that’s when she picked up the badminton racket, and the rest is history. In 2008, Saina became the first Indian to win BWF World Junior Championships when she defeated Japanese Sayaka Sato 21–9, 21–18. It was her second straight finals at the World Junior Badminton Championships, however, at 18, Saina achieved the feat by beating the ninth seed Japanese player. It would be great to see Shraddha play a young Saina for this event.

We cannot wait to see Saina Nehwal’s bronze medal-winning moment from the London Olympics in 2012. She had become the first Indian shuttler to bag a medal in the Summer Olympics. The last event, as ardent Saina fans we are looking to see in the movie is her on-court clash with PV Sindhu. Yes, that would be so much awesome for we will get to see the silver-medallist at the Rio Olympics also in Saina biopic. Shraddha who has already won our hearts with her on-screen Saina Nehwal avatar had earlier shared how the sportsperson is helping her with the understanding of the game. The Batti Gul Meter Chalu actress said, “She is so prompt and helpful always. I shared a video of me practising badminton, and she gave me her feedback. She is such an inspirational person.” We just cannot for the film to hit theatres.
