Alia Bhatt is all excited and nervous at the same time for her first-ever movie with the Bhatt camp. Father, Mahesh Bhatt is all set to direct her in the sequel of his 1991 release, Sadak that starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead role. Alia is expected to be the new entrant with Aditya Roy Kapur who will join the original duo in Sadak 2. While there were reports of the Raazi actress playing sister, Pooja Bhatt's daughter in this new project, recent stories refute the idea completely. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta has been roped in to essay the role of her father.

Jisshu, who was last seen in Netflix's new release, Typewriter and Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika was recently in Ooty with Alia for the same movie. Speaking about what a powerhouse of talent she is, Jisshu said,

Alia’s passion for her craft is commendable. Her heart is in her work and she is amongst the finest actors we have in Indian cinema today." When asked about the reason for signing this multi-starrer sequel, he said, "Content-driven, with challenging roles and subjects that excite me as an actor."

Recently after Indian Government decided to revoke Article 370, Bollywood projects that were slated to shoot in Kashmir were expected to be delayed or move out of the valley. However, a source from the Sadak 2 unit wishes for things to get back on track very soon. "Until there is a clear picture of what is going on in Kashmir, how can any Bollywood crew think of shooting there? By the grace of God, all will be well in the Valley,” said the same source. But since Sidharth Malhotra has already started shooting for Captain Vikram Batra biopic, Shershaah in J&K, we believe Sadak 2 will soon commence its second schedule.
