Sadak 2: Alia Bhatt Marks the Day 1 Shoot of Mahesh Bhatt’s Directorial, Pens Down a Heartfelt Message

Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial venture Sadak 2 has set foot into the shooting phase. Starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead, the movie is the sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak, which starred Pooja in the lead role. The film holds a special place in Alia’s career, Sadak 2 will mark the collaboration with her father and sister. The Highway actor took to her social media handle to announce the commencement of the film and penned down a very heart-warming message.

Sharing the Day 1 shoot picture of Sadak 2 on Instagram, Alia wrote, “Today is Day 1 of Sadak 2. And that's my father, now also my director, holding the clap. I begin shoot in a few days and honestly, I’m petrified. I feel like a tiny mouse trying to climb a beautiful, immense, emotional mountain. ”

“I hope I make it to the top and if I fall I hope I’m able to get up again. It’s a tough climb but from everything I’ve seen and everything I’ve heard, I know every single step and misstep will be worth it! Here's to movies, family, dreams and starting out on a brand NEW journey! And what a journey it’s going to be!!!! 🌟🙏🌞” she added.

Helmed by Mahesh Bhatt, the movie revolves around the continuation of Sadak. A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source close to the development as saying, "Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram. She is accompanied by Sanjay’s (Dutt) character in this journey. Sanjay has already started prep with Bhatt saab. They start shooting in a fortnight." The film also stars Gulshan Grover and Makarand Deshpande in crucial roles. Sadak 2 is slated to hit the silver screens on November 15, 2019.
