Rishi Kapoor always finds ways to attract controversy, even when his intentions are good. The actor is known for being quite active on Twitter and is very vocal on various issues, including politics. Some of his views don't go down well with many of the Twitterati. It also does not help that Rishi Kapoor has this annoying behaviour to abuse people who don't agree with him on their DMs.
But the recent Twitter controversy that Rishi Kapoor has found himself in has nothing to do with any abuses uttered him. But the topic he spoke about was so sensitive that we are hardly surprised that he invited the wrath of the trolls. Recently, former cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, who is all set to become Pakistan's 19th Prime Minister had spoken about Kashmir and both the countries' continued struggle for its control. In the video, he also spoke about wanting to continue peaceful bilateral talks with India, and throwing the ball in our court.
Rishi Kapoor looks to agree with Imran Khan's views of peace, as he tweeted, "Well spoken Imran Khan. I have been saying whatever you said on all channels past two days regarding India-Pakistan! I hope you succeed in making your “Mulk” have good relations with my “Mulk”". Check out his tweet below -

However, the usage of the word 'Mulk' (that too, twice) seems to have angered some of the Twitterati, who saw this as an opportunity to plug in his upcoming movie, incidentally called Mulk. Mulk has Rishi Kapoor play a Muslim senior citizen who duty to the country is questioned over the actions of his son. The movie is directed by Anubhav Sinha and also stars Taapsee Pannu.
Some of the irate fans called out on Kapoor's double standards. Here are some of the angry reactions -
Then I realized someone's movie is getting released soon. https://t.co/KOl8IS1NfT

If @RehamKhan1 is correct as a journalist that @ImranKhanPTI has many romantic affairs in #India then this is a reason to worry. Some have already started @DeShobhaa and this chintu. These fools any day can ditch India over their personal relationship. #BeAware #BeVigilant https://t.co/Kg5Tg8hVVD

In case you are interested in knowing what Imran Khan had said, here's his take, "If Hindustan’s leadership is ready, we are ready to improve ties with India. If you take one step towards us, we will take two steps towards you. Let's take the first step at least. Till now it has remained a one-sided relationship. Right now, Pakistan is blamed for all acts of terrorism anywhere in the world. I say this with conviction, this will be the most important thing for the subcontinent… for both countries… to have a friendship. And we should fix our main issue through dialogue."
So whose side are you on this matter? Rishi Kapoor or the trolls? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
