Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Renuka Shahane had a clash of views on Twitter recently, though it did end well and friendly. The point of dissonance? Whether 'whores' and 'criminals' should be put under the same bracket. 'Whores', as you know, is an offensive slang used to label sex workers. So what exactly happened in this case? Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, socialite, former actress and the ex-wife of film-maker Shekhar Kapur, is popular among Bollywood fans for being Shah Rukh Khan's crush in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. She is also popular on Twitter for her very diverse views on politics and social issues. Pulwama Terror Attack: Suchitra Krishnamoorthi Posts Controversial Tweet on Muslims, Netizens Slam Her.

Recently she has been following up on the case of a missing friend, where she feels that the authorities are not doing their best to work the case. Suchitra tweeted about how her mother had once told her that money is not everything, because even criminals and whores have that; what's more important are character and integrity.

However, actress Renuka Shahane, popularly known for playing Salman Khan's bhabhi in Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, took objection to Suchitra's tweet. She feels that Suchitra's statement is very degrading to sex workers who take up this profession because they have little choice or are done so by force. Renuka also pointed out how their customers often lead respectable lives, when they are also equally implicit. #MeToo In Bollywood: Alok Nath Named & Shamed Again; Renuka Shahane Gives Her Side Of The Story!

Thankfully, Suchitra agreed with her views and they ended the feud, if you can call that, peacefully.

We only wish that every debate on Twitter ends on such a sweet and friendly note, where both the parties can come to a common stance. Also, it is time that we be careful about the kind of words we choose, even we are on an emotional high!
