It's a double whammy of sorts for the never ending trolls. Vivek Oberoi and Narendra Modi are being mentioned in the same breath only to vent the bottled up emotions the naysayers harbour about the two. But in our honest opinion, it would been a big folly on Vivek's part had he not pounced on the offer of playing the most discussed and arguably the most influential politician of our time.
Those who have written the film off already are also ridiculing Vivek's choice of signing on the dotted line for this project. But here's how the film will benefit Oberoi in more than one way!
Straight In The Headlines: TBH, Vivek Oberoi who was difficult to locate in the headlines of major tabloids is suddenly consuming reams of print media and hours of prime time television of all the big newspaper and channels. He is also being featured regularly on the panel discussions to opine these days. The man is back in the news! Simple!
Heavy Duty Association: This film will only get him in the good books of the biggies of the political party. His personal views of the man he is playing and political ideologies look absolutely in sync. This will benefit Oberoi in the long run, for sure!
What a PR Drive! Bollywood stars shell out big buck in truckloads to sustain themselves in the news. They resort to various tactics and creative gimmicks to stay relevant. This film will only keep Oberoi's name in the buzz, given the timing of the release and the forthcoming elections! We don't know the fate of the film yet (or, perhaps we already do! nudge!) But any publicity, at this juncture. for Vivek, will only help him professionally!
Golden Opportunity: It would have been only silly of Vivek to let the opportunity to play Modi pass. In this day and age when biopics is something all B-town stars are desperate to work in, Oberoi gets to play the man who is so influential both on the national as well as on the international map!
All in all, it is a win-win scenario for Vivek and he must milk the opportunity to the fullest, even if the 'script' demands it or not!
