Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's rap drama is all set to hit the screens on February 14. The trailer, teaser and the songs are like the rage on the internet and we are even positive about the final verdict already. However, when all these glimpses hit the internet, there was one comparison that the fans could not resist doing and that was, Eminem's 8 Mile vs Gully Boy. During a recent interview, the director of the flick, Zoya Akhtar finally addressed the issue and told us what exactly is the truth! Does Ranveer Singh Borrow Outfits From Deepika Padukone's Wardrobe? The Actress Finally Answers....

During a chat with DNA, she was asked whether she considers it 'unfortunate' that her film is being constantly compared to 8 Miles. The filmmaker revealed, "It’s not unfortunate, it’s obvious because 8 Mile is the biggest reference for rap. So people will look at it and be like, ‘Okay, this and that...’ Like during Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’s release, everybody was saying it’s Hangover (2009). But it was not Hangover and I got upset. However today, I don’t feel that way about this film."

She also gave a legit reason why the people must be drawing comparisons between both the films and the main reason is the genre. She added, "I know that when Gully Boy opens in cinemas, they will understand that it’s specific to people from our space. I think what they are talking about is the rap battle, but those things are common everywhere. So, I’m not reacting to that."

Well, now that the truth is here straight from the horse's mouth, people might want to leave their inhibitions home and go and watch this film in theatres already! Are you ready to listen to Ranveer's rap on the big screen?
