Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are now officially man and wife. The couple tied the knot today in a traditional Konkani ceremony in Italy. Now, the lovebirds are all set to get married again tomorrow in a Sindhi ceremony amidst close friends and family members. It was earlier reported that DeepVeer will be getting married twice as their wedding will be a blend of both Konkani and Sindhi rituals. It is being reported that while the colour for today's wedding ceremony was white, it will be red for tomorrow. Sindhi weddings are as loud, fun and noisy as Punjabi weddings. Here's taking a look at some of the unique customs and rituals of Sindhi weddings that Ranveer Singh and his family might also follow ahead of the ceremony tomorrow. Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh Wedding LIVE UPDATES: First Pics from DeepVeer's Marriage Ceremony Out.

The unique pre- wedding ritual of tearing clothes of the groom

Sindhis have a unique ritual where they tear the groom's clothes on the eve of the wedding. Since with marriage, he is entering into a new phase of life, he is expected to shed the old and embrace the new. The tearing of clothes symbolises just that. It is only the family members and friends of the groom who tear his clothes to ward off the evil and to prepare the groom for his new life. With the clothes, his bachelorhood is separated from him. Another belief behind this custom is that after this ritual, the groom is free from all evil and  negativity and ready embrace the new life that awaits him as a married man.

Talking about DeepVeer, though the couple declared the wedding dates on social media in October after months of speculation, Deepika and Ranveer made sure the wedding itself was cloaked in secrecy. They didn't let out a single pic or video from the wedding until some time ago. There have been some pics that have surfaced online but they're not enough to give a clear glimpse of what happened at the wedding ceremony today.  Unlike Bollywood’s two earlier weddings – Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja in Mumbai and Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli in Italy — this couple gave the media no space to broadcast their love story ‘IRL’, ‘in real time’. According to reports, only 40 people, including Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan, have been invited for the wedding.
