Ranveer Singh starred in the most successful film of the year at the beginning of 2018, Padmaavat. Then he ended the year with a bang with Simmba. And in a year when Shah Rukh Khan's Zero, Salman Khan's Race 3, Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan weren't up to the mark, it is tough not to think that its Ranveer's time now. When someone asked the actor about his reaction on the same notion, at the trailer launch of Gully Boy, his reaction was hilarious. "If you are saying so, I will agree to it," Ranveer quipped. But the actor, within a second, got serious and said that he doesn't actually believe that as he feels bad when someone else's movie doesn't work. "I am a part of this very industry after all," he said.

The first trailer of Gully Boy was dropped at the event. Apart from Ranveer, present were Alia Bhatt, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and director Zoya Akhtar. The trailer has received a positive response from the fans. The movie is inspired by the lives of rap artists like Naezy and DIVINE. It will tell the story of a man who rises from the streets of Mumbai to become a successful rap star.
Apart from Gully Boy, Ranveer will also be seen in the sports drama '83 in which he will be seen playing the role of Kapil Dev.
