Ranveer Singh has received a lot of acclaim for his negative role in this year's highest grosser in Padmaavat. He was also hailed as the best thing in the movie, which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. Ranveer Singh is quite busy these days with some plum projects in hand. But it looks like there is still space for more.

As per a report in DNA, the actor is in talks with Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to star in his next movie. Mehra has two movies in mind to work on - one a kabaddi movie, and other a film about a father and son bonding. He is eyeing Ranveer Singh to star in either of these projects. Speaking to the website, a source close to the project revealed, "Ranveer and Rakeysh met and discussed about working together. The filmmaker has bounced off the ideas to Ranveer, but nothing has been locked yet. They are going to have a few more meetings before they zero in on the film." However, there is no official confirmation from both sides on this.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is currently in the post-production of his children's film Mere Pyaare Prime Minister, which is scheduled to release on October 2. Earlier, speaking to IANS, Mehra revealed, "It will release on October 2. Written by Hussain Dalal and Manoj Mairta, ‘Mere Pyaare Prime Minister’ highlights a mother-son relationship, teaches about hope and taking charge of a situation. The film also stars Makrand Deshpande, Sonia Albizuri, Niteesh Wadhwa in pivotal roles. The film is inspired by Gandhiji, so it’s a relevant date."

Coming back to Ranveer Singh's future filmography, he is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, after which he will move on to work with Rohit Shetty in Simmba. He has also signed to play the lead in Kabir Khan's 1983, a movie about India's first World Cup win in cricket. Ranveer is reportedly playing Kapil Dev in the movie.
