Ranveer Singh to be Coached by Kapil Dev Himself in Kabir Khan's '83?
Ranveer Singh is known for his commitment and dedication to his role, so it is hardly surprising that he will take tips from the cricket legend.
Ranveer Singh is all set to play former Indian cricketer and commentator, Kapil Dev in '83. The movie is directed by Kabir Khan and is based on India's first World Cup win in cricket in 1983. Kapil Dev was the captain of the winning cricket team then, and the movie is said to be a biopic of the cricketer and how he prepared the underdog team to a winning one. So it comes to no surprise to us that Kapil Dev could himself coach Ranveer to play like himself in the film.
As per a report in Mid-Day, Kapil will come down to Mumbai in November to train Ranveer Singh. Vishnu Induri, one of the producers of the film, has confirmed this as he revealed, "Ranveer will start prepping from November. Kabir and he are in touch with Kapil, who will fly down to Mumbai for a week in November to help Ranveer prep for the role." The movie will go on floors in December.
Earlier speaking to PTI, Ranveer has this to say about playing Kapil in the film, "For me to be playing Kapil Dev is a huge deal. He is a legend in the truest sense. He commands such respect in the cricket fraternity and has a vast fan following."
Ranveer Singh is known for his commitment and dedication to his role, so it is hardly surprising that he will take tips from the cricket legend. Earlier, while prepping up for MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sushant Singh Rajput had worked closely with Captain Cool himself to get the batting style and mannerisms right.
Coming back to '83, the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. However, the movie has got a release date in August 2019.
