Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 is one of the most anticipated biopics in Bollywood. The story that essays around the events related to Indian cricket, the 1983 World Cup Win for India, which was headed by then-captain Kapil Dev. Ranveer will play the role of Kapil Dev, while the other cast of the film is being unveiled as yet. The latest entry to the ’83 club is the south Indian actor R Badree. R Badree said that he is super excited to work with Kabir Khan. The actor also revealed that it feels awesome to play the part of Sunil Valson and to be a part of reel Indian squad of 1983. Sunil was one of the players of the 1983 Indian Cricket team and was the only member who did not play a single match thereon.

Presented by Reliance Entertainment, "'83" is directed by Kabir Khan, and will see Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev. The cricketer himself has been closely associated with the project by training the actor. '83 follows how, under newly-appointed captain Kapil Dev, the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the final of the World Cup in 1983. It tracks the coming-of-age of not just a cricketing team but of a young nation in the eyes of the world.

With Ranveer Singh playing the lead, the film also stars Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Saahi Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikanth and Pankaj Tripathi as manager PR Man Singh, Tahir Bhasin, Saqik Saleem, and Harrdy Sandhu, as the supporting cast of Men in Blue.

The movie that is touted to celebrate the iconic moment of Kapil Dev and his lads lifting the first ever World Cup in 1983, is slated to release in April 2020.
