On Thursday, Bollywood stars such as Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Rohit Shetty and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, landed in the capital city for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This meeting comes weeks after Modi met Bollywood producers to discuss issues faced by the entertainment industry. Post meeting, filmmaker Karan Johar, TV Producer Ekta Kapoor, among others took to social media to thank the Prime Minister for his time and the reduction of GST on movie tickets.

Just a couple minutes ago, Ranveer Singh too took to the photo-sharing app to share a picture, where the actor is seen hugging the PM. Alongside the picture, Ranveer wrote on Instagram, "Jaadoo ki Jhappi! 🤗 Joy to meet the Honourable Prime Minister of our great nation 🇮🇳 @narendramodi"

Meanwhile, sharing a selfie with Modi, Karan wrote on the Instagram, "Powerful and timely conversations can bring about change and this was one of what we hope will become a regular conversation. Meeting the Honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi today was an incredible opportunity. As a community, there is a huge interest to contribute to nation building. There is so much that we want to do. And can do and this dialogue was towards how and what ways we can do that."

He further added, "When the youngest country (in demography) joins hands with the largest movie industry in the world, we hope to be a force to reckon with. Together we would love to inspire and ignite positive changes to a transformative India. The film industry would also like to send a huge thanks for the GST reduction in movie ticket prices that was implemented recently! Thank you so much for your time, Sir!"

Ekta too thanked the Prime Minister as she wrote, "Thanku honourable prime minister for an insightfull mtng! A young delegation met this visionary leader to start conversations on how to merge education n entertainment ! On my acc I can say the aura n the vision have left me overwhelmed ! JAI HIND"

In other news, the last meeting between the Prime Minister and the film fraternity, which was held in December, had drawn criticism for not including any female personality. The earlier group had consisted of Johar, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Roy Kapur and Ritesh Sidhwani, among others. Watch this space for further updates.
