"Oh goodness! Look at what Ranveer Singh is wearing!" is the popular reaction to anything the actor dons these days. But you know what? Ranveer doesn’t care. He channels his inner randomness with his style and is flawless at that. Do a quick Google search and you will realise that there are n number of articles about Ranveer Singh’s dressing sense and most of them are critical and some even mocking.
But why are we so disturbed by his choice of clothes? Well, the answer to that is simple – Ranveer Singh doesn’t dress up in the typical macho man avatar. He will wear a tux but it won’t be a classic black pantsuit and a white shirt. Ranveer’s style is rather an all printed bright coloured tux. And that doesn’t go down well with the common crowd. Why? Because men don’t wear prints, and reds and floral ties. Huh? Luckily, Ranveer Singh is too cool to care.
He is one man who is ahead of his times, redefining the meaning of machismo. In an industry which is obsessed with the toxic masculinity of stars like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, Ranveer Singh made an entry wearing his heart on his sleeves and took the industry by storm. He not only dresses a little differently but also acts natural. In real life, off the camera, Ranveer is his usual wacky self.
Who isn’t weird right? But most of us keep the weirdness locked inside us and usually put up a decent act in the public. Ranveer, on the contrary, is full of energy, playful and funny out in the open. He express his love, says funny things and wears whatever crazy experiment he wants to do with clothes.
Just look at how he dresses:
And yes it isn’t really ‘macho’, but he carries it with absolute confidence and pure swag!
Not only his clothes, the way Ranveer behaves too breaks the norms. For instance, the man has never tried to hide his love for his girlfriend Deepika Padukone. He, in fact, talks mushily about her and doesn’t shy away from showering attention on her in public. Ranveer never adhered to the norms that wanted men to act with a stiff upper lip.
Just look at him!
Not only is he an expressive boyfriend, he also openly expresses his love for friends like Arjun Kapoor whom he loving calls Baba. Moreover, he has never kept himself from praising his contemporary actors like Ranbir Kapoor, who also happens to be Deepika’s ex.
And we have got this super cute proof:
In fact, even with his choice of films, Ranveer has established himself as a responsible actor. Unlike some of his contemporaries, Ranveer never pandered to popular choice by essaying roles of larger-than-life heroes. In films like Band Baja Baraat, Lootera and Dil Dhadakne Do he played sensitive male characters.
Some may argue that Ranveer’s conduct is all an act. And he has marketed himself in a certain way. Nonetheless, we need to appreciate him having the courage to be different from the lot and not submit to toxic masculinity.
You are #ManGoals Ranveer! 💖💖
