And we had asked the readers to choose which of those they liked the most. Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana in Article 15, Ranveer Singh in Gully Boy – 8 Best Performances by an Actor in the First Half of 2019.

For the Best Actor category, we had chosen Anil Kapoor for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Ranveer Singh for Gully Boy, Vicky Kaushal for Uri: The Surgical Strike, Shahid Kapoor for Kabir Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput for Sonchiriya. Akshay Kumar for Kesari, Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Thackeray/Photograph and Ayushmann Khurrana for Article 15 were also chosen in the list. We had asked the fans to choose whose performance they had loved the best

And it is Ranveer Singh who is chosen as the Best Actor in the First Half of 2019. His performance as the upcoming rapper Murad in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy had got raving reviews during release. Now, it feels like the fans have not forgotten his performance even in the wake of Shahid Kapoor's brilliant act in Kabir Singh. Considering that July 6 also happens to be Ranveer Singh's birthday, this would be a wonderful gift for the quirky actor by his fans. Ranveer Singh would be seen next portraying former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's 1983. He is also a part of Karan Johar's magnum opus, Takht, as well as Yash Raj Films' Jayeshbhai Jordaar. There is also a chance that we can see Ranveer in a cameo in Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi.
