After enthralling the audience with his blockbuster Padmaavat, Bollywood’s powerhouse actor Ranveer Singh is all set to star in Kabir Khan’s '83. The sports drama, which is slated to release on April 10, 2020, will see Singh playing the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The actor, who seems to be quite thrilled about playing the part, shared a couple of pictures with Kabir Khan and Sachin Tendulkar today. Looks like he has started prepping for the role! The director-actor duo visited the Lord’s Cricket Ground to watch the India vs England Test match. The match was, however, delayed due to rain.

He shared the pic and captioned it as: "Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil’s Devils win the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India. 35 years later we kick off the prep for our film 83 at the Lords... Can’t get better than this can it? ". Check out his post here:

The film will present the story of skipper Kapil Dev and the Indian national cricket team when they left the whole country energised after winning the 1983 World Cup in England. This was the first time ever that any team apart from the West Indies won the world cup and it was the first time ever that an Indian team won any prominent tournament. Earlier, the flick was slated to hit the big screens on April 5, 2019. However, the film's release date got pushed to 2020 for reasons unknown.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is produced by Phantom Films, Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Vibri Media, Reliance Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films.
