At the teaser launch of Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film, Sanju, the actor and the makers of the film were asked on their take on Saroj Khan's casting couch comment that has sparked an uproar on social media. While Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani remained mum on the topic, Ranbir Kapoor went on to respond saying, "I have never faced it. If it's there, it's the worst kind."

Just when he said that, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani burst out into laughter. This made us wonder if Bollywood will ever take a stand against casting couch in the film industry which is very much prevalent right since the start.

I mean, why hasn't anyone from the film industry commented on this so far? What Saroj Khan said was absolutely insensitive and it is of utmost importance that Bollywood takes a strong stand against it. What Ranbir Kapoor said at the Sanju teaser launch hasn't gone down too well with many Twitter users and for all the right reasons. He may not have faced something like casting couch and he is should consider himself fortunate. But then why would he face such an evil? Doesn't he have 'Kapoor' attached to his name?

Secondly, he is very well aware of the fact that casting couch does exist in Bollywood. Considering he is a public figure and has been associated with the fraternity for so long, he ought to speak up against it, no matter what! But on the contrary, RK was totally oblivious to it.

The laughter of Hirani and Chopra over his statement is even more alarming, showing their casual attitude to what is a burning issue plaguing the industry right now.

Actors like Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh have earlier opened up about how they were asked to sleep with someone in bed just to get a role in their movie. That in itself is a proof big enough that sexual harassment and casting couch do exist in the Hindi film industry like ours and the silence of actors and other industrywallahs is only making it worse.

While we appreciate the fact that Ranbir at least said something about it, but it is kind of appalling to see Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani laughing it off. They are public figures and had a platform, an opportunity to speak up against casting couch but sadly, they just sat there and had a good laugh.
