In 2007, Ranbir Kapoor debuted on the big screen with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor. It clashed with Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om and we all know how that panned out. But turns out it wasn't his first stint in front of the camera. The film is directed by Abhay Chopra, who also helmed the remake of Ittefaq starring Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna. Reports suggest it was even nominated for the Student Oscars. The film is on capital punishment in India and how a jailer had to execute his own son.
