Ranbir Kapoor-Sanjay Dutt’s Shamshera Release Date OUT! Find Out When to Expect YRF's Period Drama

Peopel are still not over Ranbir Kapoor's stellar performance in the Rajkumar Hirani film 'Sanju'. His performance in the film based on Sanjay Dutt has left everyone awe struck, declaring him as the most promising actor of this generation. Naturally, there has to be some curiosity around his next films. We are not talking about his next, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Brahmastra. It's YRF's Shamshera, that we are referring to. The teaser of the film gave us another new look of RK as a dacait and that itself is again enough to piue the interest of the fans. Moreover, it is Sanjay Dutt himself, who he will be working with in this movie! The release date of this much awaited film is out which is 31 July, 2020. Yes, almost a year from now.
We will see the talented Kapoor romancing Vaani Kapoor in this period drama directed by Karan Malhotra. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt... #Shamshera release date finalised: 31 July 2020... Costars Vaani Kapoor... Produced by Aditya Chopra... Directed by Karan Malhotra... Starts 2018-end... Shooting will wrap by mid-2019."
The story is not exactly about a dacoit, tells Ranbir. It is about a tribe of dacoits who strive hard to get Independence from the British and who want their own rights, he told PTI.

Kapoor added, "There was a great story of heroism, a story rooted in our country which actually happened back then. It is a departure from the kind of films I have done, it is not the coming-of-age lover boy roles which I have done often. 'Shamshera' is in the aspirational space, the space of true, badass commercial cinema." The flick will go on the floors during 2018 end and will be bankrolled by Aditya Chopra. Also, the film will be having the music of popular music director duo Ajay-Atul. Are you excited?
