Rajkummar Rao, currently on a roll after the success of Stree, is very much in-demand among the Bollywood directors. He will be seen next in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, where he will be sharing space with the father-daughter jodi of Anil and Sonam Kapoor. There is also Made in China, that is brought by the makers of Stree, and has him paired with Mouni Roy. The most recent development is that Rajkummar Rao has been roped in to play the lead in Anurag Basu's next. He will be paired opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh of Dangal and Thugs of Hindostan fame in the film. Rajkummar Rao's Made in China AVOIDS Clash with Prabhas' Saaho and Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal, Will Now Release on August 30, 2019.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the yet-untitled movie is a sequel to Basu's own Life In A Metro. The movie reportedly has four segments, one of which is the love story between Rao and Shaikh's characters. Now Rajkummar Rao shared a glimpse of the segment that he is in, a picture that has him and Fatima's characters facing a lake. What intrigued us about the picture is Rao's longish hair and his Mithun-da style dance step, while Fatima in a brown saree poses with him. The segment looks like it is set in the '80s going by the styling of these actors. Rajkummar Rao Signs A New Horror Comedy With Dinesh Vijan and No, It's Not Stree 2.

The Mumbai Mirror report also states that the segment will be shot in Bhopal in a 15-day schedule. Some of the scenes are reportedly being shot in Saif Ali Khan's ancestral property in the area. The movie is reportedly about four human stories set in four small towns in India. Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pankaj Tripathi. This would be Anurag's first film after the underrated 2017 film Jagga Jasoos.
