Rajinikanth's Kaala was supposed to release on April 27. It was to clash with Avengers: Infinity War. And then, the strike in Tamil Nadu happened and the movie's release plans had been put on hold. In fact, after that interesting teaser, we are yet to see the proper trailer of the movie. Rajinikanth plays a slumlord in Dharavi, Mumbai who takes on the political nexus in Kaala, that is directed by Pa Ranjith. Pa Ranjith has earlier made Kabali with Thalaiva in the lead.

With just two weeks for April 27 to arrive, it is now quite impossible for Kaala to make it to its release date. The latest piece of rumours that are doing the rounds is that Kaala is now eyeing a June release, looking to release during Eid. There are chances that it might release either on June 14 or 15. We are still waiting an official confirmation from producer Dhanush on this.

If this comes out true, then Kaala will be clashing with another mega movie, Salman Khan's Race 3. Eid has always been Salman Khan's favourite festival to release his movies, but it looks this year he has competition, at least in the Southern part of the country and in overseas business. Race 3 is directed by Remo D'Souza and also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.

Interestingly, Kaala also stars Saqib Saleem's elder sister Huma Qureshi, so it will also siblings clashing with each other at the box office. Kaala also has Nana Patekar as the primary antagonist.

So Rajinikanth vs Salman Khan -  which stalwart will you be rooting for when this Eid arrives? Share your thoughts below.
