Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz's thriller period drama has been in tremendous buzz. Apart from the reunion of the Badshaho protagonists, the plot of this Rajkumar Gupta film promised an entertaining journey to the audience through the trailer. Owing to the subject and the star of the movie, it has managed to mint a good amount at the box office. Despite getting mixed reviews by the critics, Raid collected Rs 10.04 crore on its first Friday, which sets up a bar to expect more during the weekend.

Bollywood Trade Anaylyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "After an ordinary start in morning shows, #Raid jumped post noon onwards... Evening/night shows saw super growth... A double digit start for a non-masala, realistic film is heartening... Strong word of mouth should boost numbers on Sat and Sun... Fri ₹ 10.04 cr. India biz."

Talking about her role as 'Malini' in Raid, Ileana D'Cruz told a leading portal, "Malini is very spunky and says what she has to and she is an equal to her husband and that says a lot considering the film is rooted in early 80s. There are certain dialogues of mine in the film which are very cool and I cannot divulge them now as I am afraid that censor board might ask us to edit them. As far as roles are concerned, I would not want to do a role that anyone can do."
