Raghava Lawrence made headlines when he announced his decision to leave Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb. The Kanchana actor was roped in to direct this Hindi remake but he felt his self-respect was compromised. Apparently, the director was not informed about the poster's release date nor was he asked for his inputs regarding its design. He had some issues with the production house and there were many differences brewing between them. After a couple of heated arguements, he finally decided to leave it for good. However, if a recent report by Bollywood Hungama is to believe, there were a couple of other reasons that prompted his decision. Laxmmi Bomb Director: Not Raghava Lawrence, but Farhad Samji to Helm Akshay Kumar’s Film?
A close friend of Lawrence said, “There was already a lot of confusion and issues right from the beginning right from the cast and creatives to the technical crew that he wanted and thought would be the best according to the project. Language is a barrier and for him to get the best of what he wanted was to get the support of his team here. He felt disrespected with a lot of action and behaviour from the Bollywood team and that’s why he hit the roof. He made a dignified exit and he stands by it."
Going further he also elaborated on how Raghava wanted Laxmi Rai to play the lead in this Akshay starrer. However, he was promised that they will either rope Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif for the same. "The director didn’t have an issue with bigger names for the actresses as they would add to the project, but he had no clue who Shabina had approached or spoken to. Till the last minute it seemed Katrina or Deepika was on board till he heard that Kiara had been signed and by then, he was already exhausted as too many fights have been happening, so he said fine to Kiara," his friend explained. The director was clearly unhappy with her casting but decided to ignore it. Laxmmi Bomb First Look Poster: Akshay Kumar’s Kohl-Eyed Look Raises Eyebrows, Raghava Lawrence’s Film Gets a Release Date – See Pic.
However, the final nail in the coffin was the fact they didn't consult him before releasing the film's first poster. “Raghava has great respect for Akshay sir but Lawrence is the captain of the ship and if somebody releases the poster, without his knowledge, it’s not done. He felt that today if they could they release the poster, tomorrow they could release the movie and throw him out of it or release something which he didn’t like and give his name," said his concerned friend. Though the director insists that he's in talks with the producers and things may work out between them, chances are very bleak. Let's hope things work out between them eventually and we get to see Akshay collaborate with Lawrence.
