If their lead star's legal troubles had not played spoilsport in their plans, the makers of upcoming Eid movie Race 3 would have shoot a portion of the movie in South Africa's exotic locales. Then Salman Khan got convicted in the two decade old blackbuck poaching case by the Jodhpur court and was sentenced to a five year jail sentence. After spending two night in the jail, he finally got a bail, but he has to attend the hearing in the High Court on May 7. While Salman Khan returned to his movie shoots, he cannot leave the country without the completion of the legal formalities.
This has caused a headache for the makers as they had planned to shoot a sequence in South Africa. As per a report in Mid-Day, they were looking for alternative options in India and their search had now ended in Leh.
A source close the project has told the paper, "According to the original plan, South Africa was going to be the second last schedule followed by the Mumbai leg. After the court sentencing, certain changes had to be made in the schedule. The makers felt it would be feasible to wrap up the Mumbai schedule first, so that they didn't lose out on time. Towards the month-end, they will head to Leh to film the song that was initially meant to be canned in foreign locales."
Director Remo D'Souza, when speaking to the newspaper, confirmed the change of locations but he declined to confirm the reason. He had said, "We were scouting for locations, and finally decided on Leh and Ladakh. It's going to be a week-long shoot during which we will film a song."
Race 3 also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Aditya Pancholi. The movie is scheduled to release on Eid 2018.
