Race 3: 5 Mistakes Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez's Thriller Should Avoid From The Previous Films

With Salman Khan leading the third movie, we do expect Race 3 to make shitloads of money.

Salman Khan arrives this Eid with his first proper release of 2018, Race 3. Directed by Remo D'Souza, the action thriller has Salman take over the lead from Saif Ali Khan, who was the hero in the first two movies. Race 3 is believed to have no connections with the previous films either, though it retains two actors from the franchise - Anil Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez. Race 3 also stars Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.

While the first movies in the Race franchise had their flaws, they were still entertaining and made money at the box office. With Salman Khan leading the third movie, we do expect Race 3 to make shitloads of money. But then money doesn't make good cinema, and we do believe that the makers have to do justice to the audience to give some content than just style and pizzazz. So here's hoping that Race 3 won't repeat these five mistakes that the previous movies made.

Hero Death Cop-out!

The first movie has Saif Ali Khan's character being shown 'killed' by Akshaye Khanna and Bipasha's characters. While it was a shocking moment, we knew that the death won't last thanks to the trailers revealing scenes featuring Saif that were not seen before him being killed. Still it was a good one. But the writers of Race 2 loved the idea so much that it repeated the same tactic again for the sequel, which felt very lazy and ruined the other twists.

Sexist Dialogues

While Anil Kapoor was really good in the first two movies (when is he not?), we cannot same about his sleazy detective character and his track. Derived from the popular Pankaj Kapur character Karamchand from a TV show, Anil Kapoor's RD pouts sexist lines and his pervy obsession with his assistants is difficult, especially now considering Anil's daughter Sonam is the flag-holder of the women empowerment in Bollywood. Thankfully Anil is not reprising that character in Race 3, so we hope there is no repeat of this pervy stance.

Unwarranted Comedy

Interestingly the above track was played for laughs (which didn't exactly work). There were also a couple of tracks, especially when Johnny Lever came out in a random scene to make you laugh. While watching Lever is always welcome, the insertion of forced comedy in the proceedings, especially when things get gripping, is totally not needed!

Inane stunts

Going by the trailer of Race 3, we know it's too late to mention this. But still fingers crossed that they won't repeat the inanity of the below scene from Race 2.

Too many twists!

Twists are welcome, but too many of them spoil the broth. A big flaw with Race 2. Keep them coming in a very controlled manner!
