PV Sindhu Wants Deepika Padukone to Play Her Character in the Badminton Champ’s Biopic
It is yet to be finalised who would be playing PV Sindhu’s character on the big screens. In an interview to a leading daily, the 24-year-old badminton champ has stated that she would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play her.
Two years ago Sonu Sood confirmed that he has sought the rights to produce the biopic on badminton champion PV Sindhu. After Sindhu’s win at the Badminton World Federation World Championships in Switzerland, the makers have a great climax. But it is yet to be finalised who would be playing PV Sindhu’s character on the big screens. In an interview to a leading daily, the 24-year-old has stated that she would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play her.
We all know that Deepika Padukone used to actively play badminton throughout her school years. In fact she has played the sport even in nation level championships. Daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone, her initial plans were to pursue a career in badminton, however she quit it to become a fashion model. In an interview to Hindustan Times when PV Sindhu was asked who she thinks is best suited to play her character, she was quoted saying as, “Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor, too. Earlier in an interview to BT about casting the lead actress for PV Sindhu biopic, Sonu Sood had said, “You can’t teach someone to play world-class badminton in just a few months. It’s important that the leading lady knows the game well, which makes it a challenging task for us. Every film comes with its destiny. I don’t know who is destined to play Sindhu, but yes, Deepika Padukone has always been our first choice.” Well, we will have to wait for an official announcement to know who will be the leading lady and who would essay the role of Coach Pullela Gopichand.
