Pulwama Terror Attack: Bollywood Celebs to Observe 'Black Day' on 17 February as a Tribute to CRPF Martyrs

Salman Khan was scheduled to shoot for his upcoming film 'Bharat' on this day in the same time slot. Also, Amitabh Bachchan was about to shoot a commercial.

The ghastly attack in Pulawama district of Jammu and Kashmir, that killed over 40 CRPF jawans, has shook the nation massively. The terror attack by a Pakistan based terrorist outfit has led the entire country to condemn it strongly. In order to pay tribute to the martyred CRPF soldiers, Bollywood has decided to observe 'Black Day' on February 17. There will be no work carried out between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) took an initiative for this, reports Cine Blitz Online. "The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has requested everyone observe a black day. Work in studios, on edit tables, and at shoot locations will be halted from 2 pm to 4 pm tomorrow (February 17). This is being done to show solidarity. During this period, the FWICE along with members of all the 24 crafts will assemble outside Film City (Goregaon, Mumbai) to condemn the Pulwama attack, " FWICE President B.N. Tiwari told the publication.

As per the reports, Salman Khan was shooting for his upcoming film 'Bharat' on this day in the same time slot. Also, Amitabh Bachchan was about to shoot a commercial with former Indian cricketer Virendra Sehwag. Earlier, Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn, Shahid Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Shankar Mahadevan, Rishi Kapoor to name a few posted tweets, condemning the attack. Kangana Ranaut went ahead and cancelled the success party of her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.  Actress Shabana Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar put down the invitation sent by Karachi Art Council for a program on poet Kaifi Azmi in Pakistan.
