Pulkit Samrat turns 36 today and as per reports, he is celebrating it with his friends and family. He wants to apparently keep it a low-key affair. That's fair. Everybody loves to spend their special day in a certain way and Samrat has decided to keep the fun restricted to family and friends only. Having transitioned from Television to films, Pulkit has seen enough ups and downs. He was Lakshya in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi which made him a famous face on TV. #Musical Actor

In 2011, Pulkit Samrat played the lead in Vaibhavi Merchant's musical play Taj Express. It was a love story of a thief and a young girl who was played by Pallavi Sharda.

#Not A Sixxer

Pulkit Samrat was supposed to hit the TV screens with Mahesh Goswami's Sixxer. It was written by Shoba De but that never materialized. However, Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi did.

#Levitating mind-reader

Pulkit Samrat is into a lot of magic tricks. In his interview with TOI many years back, he had said, "For five years, I have not been in touch at all, but I do a lot of magic, illusions, levitation, mind-reading and card tricks. There was a time, I wanted to do a street magic-based show. "

#Case In Point

Pulkit Samrat became a rage after he played Lakshya in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahi Thi but he got bored of it and quit the show. He told TOI then, "I felt after a point that there was no thrill or challenge in that character, and I got bored. So the production house and I mutually decided that it was better for me to leave the show." Well, it wasn't as mutual as he wanted to believe. The case landed in court. Pulkit sued Ekta for non-payment of dues and the decision was in his favour. As per a TOI report, he was not paid Rs 3.23 lakh as his dues. He was barred from working outside Balaji because they dangled a contract at him which bound him for three years. The court's verdict was in Pulkits favour and it even asked Ekta to not arm-twist actors, as per TOI's report.

#Married to unmarried

Pulkit met Shweta Rohira when she was a freelance journalist. She had interviewed him during his stint as Lakshya. They stayed in touch and started dating. She is also Salman Khan's Rakhi sister and both settled down in 2014 but by next year, cracks started to appear. After months of mud-slinging by Shweta who also dragged Yami Gautam in it, she filed for divorce in 2017. The thing got so ugly Pulkit had to quit Twitter.

Presently, he is dating Kriti Kharbanda.
