Priyanka Chopra Slammed With a Legal Notice by the BMC for Illegal Construction in Mumbai
Priyanka Chopra has fallen into a legal soup.
Priyanka Chopra has fallen into a legal soup. Apparently, an Oshiwara property possessed by Priyanka has been used for illegal construction and now, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a legal notice against it. The BMC, while conducting a check, discovered that an unauthorised mezzanine floor has been constructed at the Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon - the area that has been acquired on rent from Priyanka, reports The Times of India.
The report further states that the BMC has also identified illegal construction at the premise in the Vastu Precinct building which is used by Priyanka Chopra. Manik Soni, the occupant of the spa, has also received a notice from the BMC.
Priyanka has been asked to deconstruct the illegal alterations in order to refurbish the original structure as permitted by the civic body in 2013. The BMC will demolish the structure if Priyanka fails to abide by its directive within 30 days from the date of receipt of the notice.
“We earlier wrote, asking them to regularise the unauthorised changes after paying the penalty and remove the other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them the notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply again, we will demolish the illegal constructions at both the premises,” a senior BMC official was quoted as saying by TOI. When contacted by TOI, Priyanka refused to comment on the same.
