Priyanka Chopra Receives an Apology from Mariah Smith of The Cut for Calling her a 'Modern-Day Scam Artist'
Mariah Smith of The Cut apologises to Priyanka Chopra for writing a salty piece on her.
It was only a couple of days back when one of the writers published a rather nasty piece on Priyanka Chopra calling her a 'modern day scam artist'. She basically wrote a rather bitchy article on how Priyanka is a gold digger and that's why she married Nick Jonas. The article was published by Mariah Smith on The Cut. The website and the writer received severe backlash on social media from celebrities and commoners as well. Post that, The Cut issued a sincere apology and took down the piece. The writer has now issued an apology stating how she was wrong and she shouldn't have written a piece like that which reflected sexism, racism and xenophobia. She said, "I sincerely apologize to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and to the readers I offended and hurt with my words. I do not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism. I take full responsibility for what I wrote and I was wrong, I am truly sorry." The Cut Apologises and Takes Down The Racist Article on Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas' Wedding by Mariah Smith After Receiving Backlash.
For those who did not get a chance to read it, the writer had written, "All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead, he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist. Even more upsetting, she’s a scam artist who never even took the time to make sure he was comfortable riding a horse before arranging for him to enter their wedding ceremony on horseback. (Sadly, no one has yet to report on whether or not Nick Jonas was truly comfortable riding into his wedding on horseback.)" Here are more excerpts from this article.
When PeeCee was asked to comment on the same recently while she was in Delhi, she said, “I don't even want to react or comment. It's not even in my stratosphere. I'm in a happy place at this moment. These kinds of random things can't disturb it."
