Nirav Modi's alleged fraud is topping the headlines in Indian publications. The diamond businessman has the allegations of committing a fraud of Rs 11, 515 crores in involvement with Punjab national Bank. There were reports that Priyanka Chopra, the global brand ambassador for the jewelry brand, would sue Modi for non- payment issues. However, it turns out that Chopra has quit the position of the brand ambassador.
PC's spokesperson told a new agency, "There are speculative reports that Priyanka Chopra has sued Nirav Modi. This is not true. However, she is currently seeking a legal opinion with respect to terminating her contract with the brand in light of allegations of financial fraud against Nirav Modi,"
Also, recently, Parineeti Chopra took a stand for sister, Priyanka, against people dragging her in the Nirav Modi controversy. At an event, the Ishaqzaade actress said, "I also want to say this clearly: when a controversy comes up, an actor’s name crops up in a big manner even if he or she is connected remotely to it. One has to understand that the actor is just doing his or her part by acting or spreading the word in India or worldwide for what they are representing. We are not creating or manufacturing the product. We are only doing our job."
Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra who was seen in all the Nirav Modi's brand campaigns last year was questioned about the whole controversy. However, the Aiyaary actor clarified that his contract with the company got over last year. Malhotra added, " That is something not related to us. I have nothing to say on it."
