Move aside DeepVeer, for the next big wedding on the cards is that of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. While Priyanka was in the capital shooting for her film until a few days back, fiancé Nick Jonas landed in India last week. And last night, Nick’s brother Joe Jonas and his fiancé, GoT star Sophie Turner reached Mumbai. The rest of the family is expected to arrive in the country soon. Joe and Sophie will soon fly out of Mumbai to Udaipur to prep for Priyanka and Nick’s wedding functions. A few days back, we’d also reported about how Priyanka had arranged for a chopper to fly her out to her wedding destination from Udaipur airport back and forth, so as to avoid the paps. However, the actress’s wedding has seen a small glitch in its planning as she had to change the venue for one of her functions. As per reports in Bombay Times, Priyanka and Nick’s sangeet ceremony was to happen at the Mehrangarh Fort, but the venue has now been moved to Umaid Bhavan Palace, where her wedding will take place. In fact, all of her pre-wedding ceremonies will happen at the palace itself.
The reports also mentioned that Priyanka and Nick have already hired private security for their big day. However, the actress who had requested local police protection to travel from Umaid Bhavan Palace to Meherangarh Fort, and was denied the same, owing to the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan. With this, the actress’ itinerary saw a change.
Until a few days ago, Priyanka and Nick’s wedding dates were not confirmed, but last week Filmfare reported the finals dates. On November 29, will be the Mehendi and sangeet, a cocktail party on November 30 and a haldi ceremony on December 1. Priyanka and Nick will first have a Christian wedding followed by their Indian one on December 2.
It is also being said that the couple recently finished off some important paperwork at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, to obtain a marriage license in the United States.
