We bet you remember Priyadarshan's 2003 comedy-drama Hungama starring Akshaye Khanna, Rimi Sen, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor in lead roles. The film was a sleeper hit back then and became popular thanks to the amazing funny exchanges of Paresh Rawal's character. Well, considering we live in the time of remakes and sequels, we now hear that the director is now coming up with a sequel to the film. While actors Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor will be returning for Hungama 2, actors Akshaye Khanna and Rimi Sen who were leads in the original, will not be a part of the film. After debuting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali productions' Malaal, actor Meezaan Jaaferi has been roped in as the male lead in this film.

Speaking about his casting, director Priyadarshan said, "Yes, we’ve found our male lead in Hungama 2 and it’s Meezaan. The boy is terrific on-screen. He is a fabulous dancer like his father, emotes and fights well too. There is nothing he can’t do."

Meezaan did impress quite a few critics with his performance in Malaal as he came across as the quintessential Bollywood male lead with his personality and his dancing skills. Shedding light on Hungama 2's genre, director Priyadarshan further added, "It will be young, vibrant, warm, funny and family-oriented.
