John Abraham starrer Parmanu: The Pokhran test was in a legal mess before its release. The spat between the actor-producer with presenters Kriarj Entertainment led by Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor was the major reason. The producers were removed from the project right before the release. Post this, the court had asked to complete the legal necessities in the said weeks. However, DNA reports that Kriarj has failed to do so and Bombay HC slammed it calling it ‘contempt of court’.
KriArj Entertainment was supposed to to deposit `5 crore that it owed to Gothic Entertainment within three weeks. Gothic Ent invested in nine films produced by KriArj. However, the latter one failed to pay the money despite asking for the grace period of more three weeks leading it to contempt of court.
A source revealed. “Justice Kathawalla has given KriArj a week to file an affidavit stating why they are not paying the `5 crore as ordered and why they were not disclosing the agreements they entered into with various parties.”
In fact, Gothic Ent has also demanded the title of producer on the films like ‘Fanney Khan’ and ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ in which it has invested money. They also sought for a stay on these films until KriArj Entertaiment’s name as producers is not wiped off. Justice Kathawalla has denied to stay the release of these two films till the next hearing which will be on July 23. Looks like a lot of legal mess is due, to be cleared by Arora and her company!
