2018 seems to be a really bad year for producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment. After landing in legal tussles over Parmanu and Kedarnath, plus accusations of non-payment of dues for Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Arora has now been accused by her masseuse of physically assaulting her and non-payment of fees. A complaint has been filed against the controversial producer at the Meghwadi police station by her 60-year old masseuse.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed was in the employ of Arora for the past 10 years. Speaking to the publication, the woman claimed that the producer is yet to pay her due for the last five months. Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed revealed, "Prernaa Arora used to call me for massages in the night. I was suffering from financial problem, First to play for my husband’s cancer treatment and after his death, to pay off the loans. Prernaa Arora promised me to give Rs 75,000 per month for massages between midnight and 8 am. But when I asked my payment, she told me that she (Prerna Arora) was not going anywhere. Later, she issued a cheque for Rs 1.25 lakh (Prernaa Arora owed her Rs 3.75 lakh), which was bounced because of insufficient funds.”
"I paid on my own to travel in autorickshaws from Santacruz to Madam Prernaa Arora's house in Jogeshwari. On 9th June, when I again asked to Prernaa Arora about my payment. She started an argument and also beat me, she shut the door on my face,” she added.
However, Prernaa Arora refuted the claims and instead, accused Ahmed of stealing Rs 56,000, for which she was caught by her security and barred from entering the society again. She told Mirror that she only had a little amount pending to be paid to her masseuse, which she will do in due time. Prernaa said, "It’s a very small amount and if Khairun Ahmed has any bills and invoices, she will be paid immediately."
Girish Johar of KriArj Entertainment issued an official statement to the media that said, "This is really disgusting. Certain people, for their own vested interests, are trying to hit below the belt. And that too to a rank newcomer, who has come from outside the industry. She is being unnecessarily being targetted just because she is new, doesn't understand the nuances of the film business, just be because she trusted her so-called industry friends. Small matters are being blown out of proportion by certain industry non-starters, who we all know, have zilch standing in the fraternity. Going forward Prernaa will only be concentrating in creatives & setting up film projects & we all as a team are here not only to contribute our best to the company but to Indian cinema and its audiences as well."
We wonder when will Prernaa Aroraa's bucket of woes will stop overflowing!
