Amitabh Bachchan got quite the flak last week when he was promoting the song of his upcoming movie, 102 Not Out. When he was asked about his opinion on the recent spate of rapes, especially the notorious Kathua rape and murder of an 8-year old child, the superstar simply said it is too disgusting to even talk about it, and didn't say anything further on the topic. Many felt this was Mr Bachchan's idea of avoiding to talk about the sensitive issue. But many also took to Twitter to remind him that he is the face of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign and that he was quite bombastic about in his 2016 movie, PINK. Like actress-director Pooja Bhatt!

Pooja Bhatt, who is known for being quite vocal on social issues with a devil-may-care attitude, had called out on Amitabh Bachchan's stance on the Kathua rapes on Twitter. Without taking the actor's name, she wrote, "I can't help being reminded of a film called Pink. Can our images on screen please be reflected in reality?"

However, as with the recent tradition of trolls slamming celebs for taking anti-rape stances, some of them tried to hit back at Bhatt by reminding her of her past problem with alcoholism. It's apples and oranges, but for trolls who are out to malign a person's character, such trifle things hardly matter.

Pooja Bhatt, meanwhile remained unfazed with the trolling. She wrote back, saying, "A ‘recovering’ alcoholic & proud of it!In a country where people don’t even acknowledge they have a drinking problem, let alone discuss it I am grateful to stand away from the crowd that considers holding your frailties to light shameful."

Pooja Bhatt now joins celebs like Sonam Kapoor Swara Bhasker, Richa Chadha, Farhan Akhtar, in sharing a piece of their mind when it comes to confronting their haters on social media. That too with grace and poise!
