Aamir Khan had recently shown his support for PM Modi's initiative of banning the use of single-use plastic and now the Prime Minister has thanked the actor for his support and hopes that he sets an example for millions to follow. Check out their Twitter exchange.
Aamir Khan recently extended his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative on banning the use of single-use plastic in India. During the Independence Day 2019 speech, PM Modi specifically spoke about this initiative and spoke about launching a new mass movement against single-use plastic from October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In support of this initiative, Aamir had taken to Twitter and wrote, "The initiative by the Hon'ble PM @narendramodi to curb 'single use plastic' is an effort all of us should strongly support. Thanking Aamir for showing his support for this campaign, PM Modi has now responded to the actor saying, "Thank you @aamir_khan for the valuable support to the movement to eliminate usage of single-use plastic. Your encouraging words will inspire others to strengthen the movement as well."

Aamir is among the few actors who is known for taking up social initiatives. The actor is also one of the founders of Paani Foundation, along with his wife Kiran Rao. The non-profit, non-governmental organization works on drought prevention and watershed management in the state of Maharashtra. We had recently seen Aamir and Kirran working for the initiative during Labour Day, 2019.
Not just Aamir Khan, recently Salman Khan had also posted a video where he tried to spread the message of banning single-use plastic in an innovative manner when he shot the video of a monkey refusing water in a plastic bottle but accepting it when offered in a glass.
