On Saturday, October 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a special meet with members of the creative and entertainment world on ways to mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The interaction was held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. Among the personalities from the entertainment industry, actors Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were present at the event. Speaking at the event, actor Aamir Khan said, "First and foremost, I want to appreciate PM Narendra Modi for thinking about this effort (further popularising the ideals of Bapu). As creative people, there is much we can do. And, I assure the PM that we will do even more."

Later, Shah Rukh Khan also spoke about the re-introducing Gandhiji to India and popularising his ideals. Shah Rukh said, "I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi for bringing us all together, that too for a cause such as this (Mahatma Gandhi). I feel we need to re-introduce Gandhi ji to India and the world."

October 2, 2019 marked the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with senior BJP leader LK Advani and Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu had paid a floral tribute to Bapu at Rajghat on the day, earlier this month.
